Airbrushing Fabric – part 1

I’m working on airbrushing fabric because I want to make some customized t-shirts with my new airbrush, so I thought I would start with a little stenciling. I needed something simple, so I decided to make an image on a scrap of white fabric I had. The first thing I did was freehand a picture from my daughter’s Doc McStuffins coloring book. (sorry about the quality of the photo).

Then I traced this onto a piece of clear plastic using a sharpie.

I’m now in the process of cutting out certain portions with an Exacto knife and painting one section at a time. Eventually, I will be buying some stencil material as this a bit less challenging to work with because it is a bit thinner and has one sticky side. I’ll post the finished product once it’s complete.
